10.30.08, Or The Day Wilco Played Colbert
On October 30, Wilco played a new song on Comedy Central's Colbert Report called The Wilco Song. There are rumors that the song was written for the show, but I think that they just changed one of the choruses for the show. Anyway, the song is pretty entertaining. The songwriting of Tweedy & Co. is something that continually amazes me. The melodies are seemingly so simple, but combine to create a piece of music that is catchy, not a real big surprise coming from this group of guys.

808s and Heartbreak, Or Kanye West on Auto-tune
So far, I have heard 5 tracks leaked from Kanye Wests newest album, 808s and Heartbreak (named mainly for 808, a drum machine he seems to have used for a lot of his beats and the general topic of the album), set to be release later this month (the 25th I believe). I have to be honest, I'm not quite sure what to think. The first time I heard Love Lockdown, I absolutely hated it, but it has since grown on me. The other 4 songs that have leaked were produced in a similar fashion to Love Lockdown, with Kanye singing a lot through an auto-tuner, which is what gives his voice that robotic feel.
I have posted the 5 songs I have heard so far here, in the order that they will be on the album (a full track list is at the bottom of this post). I have read a lot of mixed reviews, some people are really excited about this new sound from Kanye, and some just wish he would go back to rapping instead of trying to become a singer. I for one am still on the fence about it all. Seeing as how Love Lockdown grew on me, I am going to have to let these new ones soak in for a while before I make any final decisions. Take a listen and see how you feel about it...

John Williams Medley, Or What Happens When You Have Too Much Time On Your Hands
John Williams is without a doubt the most prolific and successful commercial composer over the last 50 years, scoring movies uncluding Jaws, all 4 Indiana Jones movies, all 6 Star Wars movies, Schindler's List, Amistad, E.T., Saving Private Ryan, and tons, tons more. The video below is a tribute to some of John Williams' work and I have to say, I found it extremely entertaining, and pretty fucking awesome. This definitely took practice and most likely a lot of time. My personal favorite is probably Indiana Jones or Jurassic Park. Seriously, this thing is pretty epic...I am kind of jealous. Enjoy!

Dumb People, Or The Things I Hate The Most In The World
We all know some stupid people, and more than likely they make us angry more than anything else. Well, this is one stupid girl. There are classes for a reason. I don't think she will ever make it in the biz:
She got what she deserved.

Late Night With Conan O'Brien - The Top 15 Moments of the Funniest Show On Television
Manofest.com, (an internet version of Maxim or Stuff Magazine, you know, full of stuff for guys) posted it's 15 favorite moments from Late Night with Conan O'Brien yesterday, October 17th. And I gotta tell ya', every clip is fan-fucking-tastic. This is the one that I picked as my favorite, and it's #10 on their list. I went apple picking a few weeks ago with two of my roommates, my girlfriend and our buddies girlfriend, and I wish it were half this amazing...unfortunately we went to the one apple orchard that advertises as the "No Thrills, No Fun Apple Picking". I tried to loosen things up by hitting Bryan over the head with the picker stick, it didn't work out so well. Next year, Bryan, we will have to find one with a hayride so I can make up a song...
